Gordon Groat is a proud Mohave County leader. His wife works in medical, defense, and robotic electronics. His daughter is an LHHS and ASU graduate. She works with graphic design and advanced technologies at ASU.

Gordon did his doctoral work in education at the University of Arizona. Additionally, he holds a master of science in computer information systems, a bachelors degree in international political economy, and an associate of applied science in respiratory care and cardiopulmonary medicine.

Gordon taught computer science at university, namely database and software engineering. In K-12 he taught different sciences in high school, but during flexible assignments as a sub, he made it a point to teach every grade from K-12. Because of that experience, he knows what it’s like in the trenches!

Gordon has served on two city councils, the tri-council, and the technical education board (WAVE-JTED) that covers vocational education for all of Mohave County and parts of La Paz County. Gordon is also a proud DD-214 honorably discharged, decorated United States Army Veteran.
