Jeffrey B. Haws

My name is Jeffrey B. Haws. I am a candidate for Mohave County Superior Court Judge, Division 7. I am a seventh generation Northern Arizona resident and a 2002 graduate of Kingman High School. I graduated from the University of Arizona Law School, where I interned for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), prosecuted crimes with the City of Tucson Attorney’s office, and clerked for two immigration judges. I also served as a fellow at the William H. Rehnquist Center.
I have been a prosecutor in Mohave County for 10 years, I currently prosecute crimes for the City of Kingman. I am admitted to Arizona State Courts, Federal District Court, and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. Prior to joining the Kingman City Attorney’s Office, I worked for the Mohave County Attorney’s Office for eight and a half years, where I led the felony charging team and prosecuted some of the most serious crimes and challenging cases.
I currently serve as the director of a local high school Constitutional literacy and Appellate moot court program. In that capacity, I am able to teach our local youth about the Constitution and our rights as citizens of this great country and prepare them to compete in oral arguments at a national competition each year. I am also the President of the Board of Trustees for the Mohave County Historical Society which helps preserve and share our rich local history at the Mohave and Route 66 Museums.
My firm commitment to the Constitution, seeking justice, and holding offenders accountable have earned me a reputation as a tough prosecutor. My ethics, trial skills, breadth and depth of legal knowledge in both criminal and civil law and procedure, and my unwavering work ethic have made me a trusted resource to all of my colleagues and the law enforcement community.
As the next Judge in Division 7 of the Mohave County Superior Court, I hope to utilize my legal skills and knowledge to further serve the county where I grew up and am raising my children. The people of Mohave County can trust me to always be Committed to Justice and True to the Constitution.
